About The Position

BFCOG is seeking an experienced communications and graphic design professional to join our team and help tell the story of our region’s planning, transportation, and economic development work through clear, creative, and visually engaging communications. This is a hands-on, mid-level position for someone who enjoys both thoughtful strategy and day-to-day design production. You will serve as our sole in-house communications and graphic design professional, working closely with program staff to translate complex policy and planning work into materials that are organized, accessible, and visually compelling. We are a small organization of 10 full-time staff, and every role here carries meaningful responsibility. While the scope of this position is broad, the pace of work is steady and collaborative rather than corporate or high-pressure. You will work across a variety of projects, building consistency and quality over time within a supportive team environment. We are looking for a seasoned professional who is ready to establish a long-term professional home and contribute to an evolving communications function. The right person will bring strong design capability, sound judgment, curiosity, and a willingness to lean into the creative side of public engagement. At BFCOG, innovation means finding thoughtful, sometimes unexpected ways to connect with our community — whether that means “Pizza and Plans” or poetry about transportation safety. If you value collaboration, creativity, and meaningful public service work, we encourage you to apply. Employment with BFCOG is on an at-will basis. ADA/EEO/WLAD/Drug-Free Workplace.
