About The Position

The Communications Associate, Digital & Content Strategy is a communications generalist with strong social media expertise who will help build PPG’s communications function from the ground up. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Strategic Communications, this role plays a critical part in shaping how PPG tells its story, elevates government leaders, and shares practical tools and insights with the field. The Associate will translate our organization’s high-impact work into compelling, accessible content across multiple platforms. The role spans social media management, content production, website maintenance, and internal communications support. It is an exciting opportunity for a creative, detail-oriented communicator to help build the voice and presence of a growing organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Equivalent years of professional experience and/or certifications will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in communications, marketing, digital media, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts and executing digital content strategies.
  • Strong writing and editing skills across formats, including short-form social content and longer-form narrative pieces.
  • Experience updating websites or using content management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with social media scheduling and analytics tools.
  • Interest in government, public policy, civic engagement, or related fields.
  • Willingness and ability to travel at least two times per year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day management of PPG’s social media channels, including LinkedIn and emerging platforms.
  • Maintain and execute a content calendar aligned with organizational priorities and campaigns.
  • Draft and publish posts that translate organizational impact and new policies and interventions into engaging, accessible content.
  • Track and analyze engagement metrics to inform strategy and optimize performance.
  • Identify opportunities to amplify partner voices, practitioner stories, and field insights.
  • In collaboration with program teams, draft and edit blog posts, newsletters, press materials, and other public-facing communications.
  • Support the development of thought leadership content in partnership with program teams and PPG leadership.
  • Collaborate with external vendors or designers to produce visual assets, reports, and branded materials.
  • Enable consistency with PPG’s brand voice and messaging across all outputs.
  • Maintain and update PPG’s website, including posting new content, refreshing program pages, and supporting clarity and accuracy.
  • Support improvements to website structure and user experience over time.
  • Organize and maintain shared content libraries and templates.
  • Support internal communications efforts, including drafting staff updates, announcements, and leadership messages.
  • Build processes and tools that streamline content intake and editorial workflows.
  • Coordinate with program teams to surface stories, milestones, and impact highlights.
  • Represent PPG’s voice professionally and thoughtfully across digital platforms.
  • Support communications related to conferences, convenings, and executive education offerings.
  • Contribute ideas to strengthen PPG’s communications strategy and impact.
