About The Position

Advance Community Health is looking for an enthusiastic Community Engagement Specialist to join our team! The Community Engagement Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing outreach strategies to engage our patients and community, and expand our ability to deliver quality, compassionate health care!

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, Public Health, Marketing, Communications, Sociology or Psychology or a related field.
  • Experience or Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access), and WordPress.
  • Experience working with persons from diverse cultures and income levels, with preference given to candidates who have worked in service settings.
  • Able to travel to outreach and enrollment sites; must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be willing and available to work on weekends, have own means of reliable transportation, and be able to travel to other ACH sites as needed
  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • 8 hours per day excluding breaks.

  • Proficiency in spoken and written Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, educational events, workshops, appearances, and other communication opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with community partners, local churches, and staff in outreach efforts.
  • Coordinate patient education activities such as the Power Hour patient education series.
  • Coordinate activities for National Health Center Week and additional health center themed weeks or events, i.e., pharmacy week, nutrition week, summer nutrition program, voter registration and census outreach.
  • Plan and coordinate special community and patient centered events.
  • Ensure patients and community members have accurate and timely information regarding Advance Community Health and our services.  Conduct presentations for local community groups, organizations, and stakeholder groups.
  • Plan and execute outreach strategies to obtain patient feedback via quarterly patient satisfaction surveys, community meetings and focus groups.
  • Track community engagement metrics through engagement dashboard.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or become necessary by supervisor.
