About The Position

The Community Health Infrastructure Coordinator will identify and implement strategies to support effective chronic disease prevention, with a particular focus on access to water and other material needs. This full-time, on-site position in CDIP’s Nutrition and Physical Activity Program (NPA) will lead and support initiatives related to improving drinking water access and appeal, water and utility security, housing quality and stability, and neighborhood health. This position reports to the Nutrition and Physical Activity Program Manager.

  • Ability and willingness to travel citywide for meetings, events, site visits, and program activities
  • Ability to support events and programming outside of typical work hours, when needed
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, OR any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable by the Philadelphia Department of Public Health
  • Two or more years of experience with project management, network coordination, community engagement, or related

Responsibilities

  • Work with Program Manager and partners to manage and grow existing initiatives, including a place-based collaboration to improve health outcomes, a home water restorations pilot, and efforts to improve drinking water access and appeal in public buildings.
  • Coordinate the Nutrition and Physical Activity program’s public-facing materials, coordinate requests for information and participation, and develop systems for ongoing bi-directional learning in community settings.
  • Develop and coordinate new strategies and partnerships, including conducting background research; recruiting participants; organizing timelines and activities; monitoring and reporting on progress; and ensuring internal and external communication.
  • Foster collaborations with other City departments and government agencies, community leaders and community-based organizations, and academic and business partners.
  • Perform ongoing policy and landscape analysis, including staying abreast of relevant City and partner plans and initiatives and identifying potential synergies, intersections, and conflicts.
  • Represent CDIP in coalitions and working groups.
  • Manage grants and contracts.
  • Produce presentations, reports, and media content.
  • Track and analyze data.
  • Document and organize work process and products.
  • Other activities and responsibilities as needed
