We pride ourselves on our extensive network of mutually beneficial partnerships, and we use our substantial influence, capital, and energy to drive towards a better future. #LMI The Position The Compensation Advisor, Investments manages end-to-end compensation support for the Investments business, spanning cash compensation, long-term incentives/equity, and carried interest. Serving as a primary liaison to Talent Business Partners, Investments Finance, Investments leadership, and partners across Corporate Compensation and Legal, this role provides market-informed guidance, builds competitive offers, and supports annual compensation processes and key governance discussions. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and modeling skills, sound judgment, and the ability to translate complex compensation topics into clear recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred but not required.
  • 5–8 years of experience in compensation, HR, finance, or related advisory roles; investments/asset management experience is a plus.
  • Experience supporting annual compensation cycles, offer construction, and market benchmarking (McLagan or comparable surveys).
  • Strong analytical skills, including modeling and scenario analysis; ability to develop and communicate clear recommendations.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with DocuSign a plus.
  • Strong collaboration skills with ability to partner effectively across Talent, Finance, Corporate Compensation, and Legal.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex compensation topics into clear guidance.
  • Experience supporting equity/LTI and/or carried interest programs.
  • High integrity and discretion in handling sensitive compensation data.
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
  • Effective stakeholder management and influence skills.
  • Solutions-oriented mindset and comfort navigating ambiguity.
  • Strong organization and project management skills; able to balance annual cycles with ad hoc priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day compensation guidance and recommendations across cash compensation, equity/LTI, and carried interest.
  • Serve as a primary compensation partner to Talent Business Partners and Investments Finance, collaborating closely with Investment leadership and Corporate Compensation.
  • Manage multiple priorities and stakeholders through strong project management, responsiveness, and clear communication.
  • Support annual compensation planning and related governance activities, including modeling, analysis, and preparation of executive-ready materials.
  • Coordinate and support periodic leadership meetings to review and finalize compensation recommendations.
  • Develop clear summaries and insights to facilitate decision-making and alignment.
  • Lead benchmarking and competitive analyses using market survey data (e.g., McLagan, Eisenhandler & Co) across base, bonus, equity/LTI, and carried interest as applicable.
  • Deliver annual reporting and on-demand analytics (e.g., compensation dashboards, budget/spend insights, pool modeling, offer analytics, and pay consistency considerations).
  • Translate market and internal data into actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Build and structure compensation offers aligned to internal practices and external market, including creative solutions for buyouts (carry/equity) and make-whole considerations.
  • Coordinate internal approvals and documentation workflows, ensuring appropriate governance and consistency.
  • Partner with Legal to support offer terms, documentation needs, and related review/approval processes.
  • Provide carried interest plan support including coordination with key partners, advisory input, and administrative support for participant decisions, reporting, and governance discussions.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and any administrators/vendors to support carried interest-related processes and communications.
