The Role: We are seeking a meticulous, detail-oriented Compliance Auditor to join our Compliance Team. The Compliance Auditor, specializing in hard-file review, will play a crucial role in ensuring our files comply with all relevant laws, Affordable Care Act regulations, and internal policies. This role involves carefully examining resident files, documentation, and records to identify non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions. The incumbent in this role must possess a high degree of professionalism and positive engagement for our residents and the workforce. Requirements

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills, particularly with hard file examination.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Affordable Housing regulations highly desired.
  • Working knowledge of Yardi Voyager Property Management software highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth reviews of hard files, including lease agreements, tenant records, financial documents, and maintenance records, to assess compliance with leasing agreements, safety regulations, and fair housing laws.
  • Examine property records and documentation to identify discrepancies or potential compliance issues.
  • Collaborate with property managers and relevant staff to address compliance concerns and guide the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local regulations related to property management and leasing.
  • Generate detailed audit reports highlighting findings, recommendations, and areas requiring corrective action based on hard file reviews.
  • Provide support for the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures.
  • Stay informed about changes in property management and compliance regulations and ensure the organization remains fully compliant.
  • Offer guidance and training to property management teams regarding maintaining compliance through proper documentation and record-keeping
  • Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, Fair Housing, Americans with Disabilities Act and all other laws pertaining to the housing industry.
