About The Position

A Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and agency standards. This role is crucial in ensuring that agency are complying with OSFC (Office of Children and Family Services) and OMH (Office of Mental Health) regulations.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field typically required. Advanced degrees (e.g., Master’s or regulatory certifications) can be a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in regulatory affairs or a related field.
  • Community resources, TCI principles, Trauma Informed Care Practices, State and Federal regulations
  • Perform under strong demands in fast-paced, diverse environment.
  • Perform at a high level of autonomy, with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Utilizing computer and standard Microsoft Office, learn new computer programming (i.e., myEvolve, Paylocity, CONNECTIONS et al.)
  • Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Work on multiple tasks, while maintaining a high attention to detail, accuracy, and quality
  • Commit to effectively and efficiently providing high levels of customer satisfaction with positive service delivery results.
  • Set appropriate limits and boundaries with clients; act decisively to protect clients, when necessary.
  • Assess and apply proper intervention strategies.
  • Identify and understand environmental stressors.
  • Recognize importance of social, economic, environmental factors in the development and resolution of personal/family problems.
  • Be sensitive to service population’s cultural/socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Commit to effectively and efficiently providing high levels of customer satisfaction with positive service delivery results.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operations meet local, national, and international regulatory requirements.
  • Interpret and apply laws, regulations, and standards to ensure compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Prepare, review, and submit regulatory filings, applications, and documents (e.g., product registration, permits).
  • Maintain detailed records of compliance-related activities and regulatory interactions.
  • Monitor and assess regulatory changes and trends that could impact business operations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and support mitigation strategies for regulatory issues.
  • Serve as the liaison between regulatory bodies and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance and resolve regulatory concerns.
  • Prepare for and participate in regulatory audits and assessments.
  • Ensure corrective actions are implemented when necessary to address regulatory non-compliance.
  • Provide guidance on regulatory strategies to achieve business goals.
  • Help develop and execute plans for regulatory submissions.
  • Monitory and organize incidents, internal and external.
  • Conduct investigations as needed.
  • Organize and run the incident review committee.
  • Collaborate with Sr. Director of Program and Quality to ensure appropriate program compliance.
  • Train new and current staff on compliance related trainings.
