SUMMARY Operates mixing machinery to blend ingredients into basic compounds and final blends, which can be colored for processing.

Requirements

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must know weight measurements such as pounds, ounces, and grams.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

Monitor gauges, auto weigh scales and track cycles. Take appropriate action as needed.
Complete and maintain necessary paperwork.
Monitor work area and adjust machines as needed.
Maintain housekeeping and clean work area.
Prepare packaging materials for recycling.
Hook up sacks of materials to be lifted and opened in hoppers.
Maintain level of quality consistent with established standards.
Comply with established safety rules.
Comply with company policy and procedures.
Maintain constructive working relationships with co-workers, lead and supervisors/managers.
Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company policy.
Perform other duties as assigned to the satisfaction of supervisor and/or lead.
