About The Position

Columbus Technical College is seeking an individual to serve as a Full-time Technical Instructor in our Computer Aided Drafting Technology Department. This individual will be responsible for general supervision, preparation of lesson plans for classroom and lab hands on lab instruction. This position also requires evaluation of student progress in attaining goals and objectives; attend staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences, and ensure all safety and security requirements are met in training. This is a full-time/exempt position.

Please note the following information regarding this position:
May require teaching on or off campus at high schools throughout our service delivery area (Muscogee County, Stewart County, Quitman County, Chattahoochee County, Harris County, and Talbot County)
May require travel
May be required to teach Fridays or Saturdays

Requirements

• An Associate Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Aided Drafting, Drafting Technology or related field.
• -OR- A Diploma in Drafting Technology from an accredited college or technical institution
• Minimum of 3 years work experience in the drafting field

Nice To Haves

• Training or teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instructing students in drafting technology skill areas
• Follow state standards in developing program and course outlines, goals and objectives
• Evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives
• Maintain supplies, tools, and equipment
• Maintain management procedures and documentation
• Meet with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students’ progress
• Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training areas
• Respond in a timely manner to administrative requests
• Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts
• Strong time management and organization skills
• Effective written and oral communication
• General Computer knowledge (Microsoft Office Suite)
• Experience with Autodesk, Fusion 360, and SolidWorks (CAD Software) preferred
• Maintain accurate and timely attendance, grade, and program related records
• ​​​Other job-related duties as assigned
