About The Position

The Concessions Supervisor role is responsible for overseeing food and beverage front of house daily operations such as managing team leads and team members, enforcing company policies and procedures and ensuring the guest experience is welcoming and exceptional. This role plays a key part in supervising a clean, efficient and friendly concessions and front-of-house environment and requires excellent guest service skills, attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid and current Orange County, California Food Handler’s Certification.
  • Must complete the California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) training and have a valid and current Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) server ID number.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, multi-tasking and communication skills with a guest-focused mindset.
  • 1+ year experience in a front-of-house, guest service, food service, hospitality or equivalent leadership role.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow food and beverage orders, safety procedures and written instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness, including shifting priorities by monitoring guest behavior.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and exercise sound judgment during busy or stressful periods.
  • Effective memory recall for confectionary recipes, food pairings, product knowledge and guest preferences.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with guests, team members and leadership staff.
  • Frequent walking, reaching, bending and grasping.
  • Ability to remain both stationary and in constant motion for extended periods (walking for most of the shift).
  • Ability to lift, push, pull or carry up to 40 pounds (e.g., cases of beverages, boxes, ice buckets, small wares).
  • Ability to use hands and arms for repetitive motions, including dispensing, stirring, pouring and stocking.
  • Ability to work in hot or cold environments depending on confectionery location (e.g. outdoor vending, freezers).
  • Exposure to cleaning solutions, operational equipment, glassware and sharp tools (e.g. box cutters, knives).
  • Exposure to various food and beverage allergens and requires strict adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours depending on business needs.
  • Work environment may include indoor/outdoor confectionery areas with variable temperatures (e.g. extreme heat).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior completion of the California Food Allergen and California Food Managers training is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor the confectionary food and beverage team in accordance with standardized company policies, procedures, recipes and guest preferences.
  • Handling guests inquires, complaints, special requests and dietary requirements to provide a positive experience.
  • Train and provide coaching to team members to maintain workflow and deliver exceptional overall guest service.
  • Administer a break schedule (may include up to 20 team members at a time).
  • Complete team member performance reviews, disciplinary action meetings, scheduling, shift logs, etc.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the confectionary/front-of-house units, and its countertops, tables, floors, fridges, freezers, carts, POS systems and surrounding areas throughout the shift.
  • Oversee food and beverage handling to ensure Orange County Environmental Health regulation compliance.
  • Service and handle guest allergens to ensure accurate orders are served to the correct guest(s) in adherence to the Orange County Environmental Health policies and procedures.
  • Assist with financial competencies including upselling, sales reporting, software systems and POS handling.
  • Complete closing duties, including filing reports, completing logs, cleaning and any checkout procedures.
  • Secure, verify and lock all equipment including fridges, freezers, carts, equipment, storage areas, buildings, etc.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures in alignment with the Orange County Environmental Health standards.
  • Host team meetings, attend leadership meetings and complete required training sessions.
  • Complete and supervise completion of paperwork including temperature logs, cleaning tasks and daily checklists.
  • Operate certain equipment including Taylor Soft Serve machines, -40 ° F freezers and confectionary warmers.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, leadership and management regarding guest needs and concerns.
  • Monitor inventory levels, track usage and report shortages or equipment needs.
  • Support special events, promotions or themed service as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties or special projects assigned to support business needs.
