About The Position

The Construction Financial Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring the financial accuracy and integrity of the organization's construction accounting operations. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who will manage budgets, perform account reconciliations, maintain financial records, and support month-end and year-end closing processes. The ideal candidate will serve as a key contributor to the finance team, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies while maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 2-4 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or related role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reconciliation processes.
  • Proven experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close procedures.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas) and experience with accounting software or ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving mindset with ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues proactively.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ability to handle confidential financial information.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain departmental and project budgets, tracking expenses against approved allocations and identifying variances.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts, including bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements.
  • Review and code invoices, receipts, and expense reports to appropriate general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare and distribute budget variance reports to department managers and senior leadership.
  • Monitor spending compared to budget to support financial planning.
  • Maintain organized financial documentation and ensure proper filing of all accounting records.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and schedules.
  • Assist in developing and implementing internal controls and accounting procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Process payroll-related journal entries and reconcile payroll accounts as needed.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis and reports as requested by management.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable regulations.
