About The Position

We’re looking for a motivated, member-focused professional to join our Gray location as a Consumer Lender I. As a Consumer Lender I, you’ll play a key role in serving our members by evaluating and processing consumer loan applications—both in person and over the phone. In this role, you will build and maintain strong member relationships by proactively exploring their current and future financial needs. A thorough understanding of our deposit products and electronic services will allow you to open new accounts, initiate loan applications, support complex account needs, troubleshoot digital banking tools, and follow through on inquiries with a focus on exceeding member expectations. You’ll also serve as a key resource for members needing technical support with our electronic products and services. Requirements

  • The successful candidate will demonstrate strong motivation, a collaborative mindset, and a consistently positive approach.
  • They will possess a solid work ethic, a commitment to delivering exceptional service, and a high level of attention to detail with proven accuracy in their work.
  • You should have a minimum of six months related experience (one or more years preferred) in a financial setting including application processing and communicating decisions
  • A high school education or GED is required
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and members
  • Have practical knowledge and understanding of consumer lending regulations Truth in Lending (Reg Z), FCRA, and ECOA (Reg B).
  • This position may require registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and Registry on an annual basis in addition to maintaining updates as needed. The Credit Union will pay the fees associated with registration as a MLO.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating and processing consumer loan applications—both in person and over the phone.
  • Building and maintaining strong member relationships by proactively exploring their current and future financial needs.
  • Opening new accounts, initiate loan applications, support complex account needs, troubleshoot digital banking tools, and follow through on inquiries with a focus on exceeding member expectations.
  • Serving as a key resource for members needing technical support with our electronic products and services.
