Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution
  • Must have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 (please don't round)
  • Must be able to work full-time for the duration of the co-op
  • Relocation is not provided for this role, the candidate must be located within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc
  • Interest in pursuing a career as a leader of people in operations
  • Transportation to and from the worksite and for incidental business travel is the responsibility of the intern; however, expenses for required and approved business travel (not including the worksite) will be reimbursed
  • The co-op culminates with a formal presentation where students showcase their success stories to leaders of the organization and receive feedback on their performance

Nice To Haves

  • Actively enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with a major in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering
  • Overall cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • Prior internship or co-op experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist with process improvement projects under guidance of the OpEx team using Lean and Six Sigma principles.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and reporting for ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Help create process maps and documentation to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for optimization.
  • Participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement workshops.
  • Assist in developing training materials and presentations for operational excellence tools and techniques.
  • Track and update key performance indicators (KPIs) for improvement projects.
  • Research best practices and emerging technologies to support efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement small-scale improvements and monitor results.
