About The Position

Norco is currently seeking an individual to fill our Controller position. The
Controller is responsible for the Accounting and Accounts Payable departments of
the company. Produce monthly financial statements timely and accurately in
compliance with the company’s basis of accounting. Maintain an adequate system
of accounting records and internal controls designed to mitigate risk and
enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results. Ensure timely
and accurate filing of various tax returns. Other responsibilities include, but
are not limited to:

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance
• Minimum 7 years progressive accounting experience
• Proficient in accounting procedure and theory
• Ability to adapt to and manage changing priorities
• Ability to be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision
• Ability to make decisions using good judgement
• Effective time management skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and key performance metrics
• Supervise and provide leadership, support, training, and professional development to the General Ledger, Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Cash Application departments
• Establish department goals to support company goals and monitor progress to ensure performance objectives are achieved
• Analyze and prepare financial information and trends for all levels of management for their review and communicate issues of concern
• Ensure accuracy of subsidiary ledgers to trial balance
• Manage the annual review of company financial statements by an external accounting firm
• Oversee preparation of supporting documentation for the company’s tax return
• Ensure various monthly federal, state and local tax returns are prepared timely and accurately
• Develop, evaluate and audit internal control procedures to safeguard company assets
• Support CFO with special projects, reports and process improvements by collecting, analyzing and summarizing financial information and trends
• Stay informed of and adhere to company policies and procedures
• Perform other tasks as assigned or necessary
