About The Position
At Cardinal State, LLC we focus on constructing traditional and ecological landscapes that enhance the urban environment both functionally and aesthetically. Our projects include ornamental landscape and hardscape installation, stream and shoreline restoration and stabilization, ecological restoration and stewardship, and green infrastructure installation. We have a unique opportunity for a Controller to join us on our journey to transform our bold ambitions into a reality! This position will serve as our Controller, handling the financial and accounting operations of a rapidly growing organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a Controller with an entrepreneurial spirit and a growth mindset. We offer a competitive compensation structure including a base salary of $110,000 - $120,000 (based on experience). We also offer a strong benefits package including paid vacation, paid holidays, and medical insurance. Our office is located in Addison, IL. and is an easy commute for from the I-355 corridor.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting positions, including 2+ years in a Controller position.
- In-depth experience and knowledge of accounting principles/theories (GAAP, FASB).
- Proficiency in Excel and intermediate to advance experience with Word and similar programs.
Nice To Haves
- Experience processing certified payroll preferred.
Responsibilities
- Ensures timely completion of all day-to-day accounting activities and preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Processing A/R and A/P on a weekly basis.
- Tracking expenses to ensure accurate job costing for projects.
- Leading the monthly and year end closing process and preparation of financial statements and cash flow projections.
- Executing an efficient collections process to improve timeliness of payments.
- Monitoring the budget and cashflow projections.
- Maintaining the budgeting process & cashflow management tools.
- Creating and maintaining monthly reporting for tracking progress of the business including KPIs, and A/R aging report.
- Analyzes data to identify opportunities to improve financial results or address potential risks to the organization.
- Ability to pass a background check.
