About The Position

Job Summary: Are you energized by connecting people, building partnerships, and helping broadband providers strengthen the way they serve their communities? As the Controller at the National Content and Technology Cooperative (NCTC), you will be a primary leader and supervisor of the NCTC Accounting department responsible for directing and ensuring all the corporate accounting practices are in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”), including the accurate and timely processing of Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Billing, Inventory, Purchase Orders, Cash Management and Payroll Processing. You will be responsible for the timely closing of monthly/annual financials, assisting with financial planning, forecasting, and analyzing various GL accounts. You will coordinate and prepares the monthly financial statements, provide special analysis, manage and recommended controls, be responsible for payroll. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration; CPA or MBA preferred
  • Strong experience in general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax and banking
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and multiple projects.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving and management skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented, problem-solving, math and analytical skills
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • 5+ Years experience in all aspects of accounting.
  • Proven managerial/leadership abilities.
  • Proficient in Sage Intacct Accounting Software
  • Knowledge of Paylocity and Employee Navigator a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel and Power Point a plus.
  • Experience in the telecommunications or broadband industry strongly preferred.
  • Regular sustained concentration, extensive computer use, repetitive keyboarding, and regular phone communication will be required.
  • This position requires a detailed background check as a condition of hiring.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Paylocity and Employee Navigator a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel and Power Point a plus.
  • Experience in the telecommunications or broadband industry strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee General Accounting Functions:
  • Oversee all core accounting functions—financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, fixed assets, and compliance—while ensuring accuracy, GAAP adherence, and strong internal controls.
  • Reconcile balance sheets and prepare and review journal entries.
  • Provide financial insights that support organizational decision-making.
  • Provide Leadership:
  • Lead and develop a small accounting team, providing guidance, training, and direction to ensure high-quality performance and operational excellence.
  • Be responsible for managing staff, fostering strong communication, and driving continuous improvement across accounting processes.
  • Supervise Banking Operations:
  • Manages daily banking operations and relationships, oversees cash flow and liquidity needs, and ensures efficient execution of transactions such as wires, drafts, and money movements.
  • Audit & Budget:
  • Support annual budgeting and long-term planning.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for audit schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and maintaining required financial documentation.
  • Human Resources Financial Support:
  • Administer bi-weekly payroll, reconcile employee contributions and withholdings, manage year-end reporting such as W-2s and 401(k) true-ups, and serve as the primary contact for benefits-related financial coordination
