About The Position

The University of Southern Maine’s College of Science, Technology, and Health is seeking a Coordinator of Academic Support for Technology. The Coordinator of Academic Support for Technology [https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SOJs7dH8cSqL4oZS7cw9lkdHOiy_9fzF/view?usp=sharing] is responsible for: Coordinating and assisting in selection and placement of undergraduate internship sites, including securing new internship sites, coordinating communication, documentation, and support of external community stakeholders involved in the internship process. Coordinating and supporting complex advising needs of the department’s undergraduate and graduate programs, including coordination and support of the departmental advising plan developed in academic year 2025-2026.  Providing specialized administrative and logistical support related to accreditation. Managing, coordinating, and prioritizing day-to-day administrative operations of the Technology Department related to answering questions, managing course schedules and part time faculty assignments, and keeping records and budgets. Designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD), The Department of Technology (DoT) [https://usm.maine.edu/tech] is in the John Mitchell Center on University of Southern Maine’s (USM) Gorham campus and offers and provides degree programs in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Technology Management.  The DoT prepares students for careers as leaders in business and industry, information technology, and network security through specialized and professional courses. The Michael E. Dubyak Center for Digital Science & Innovation along with the newly renovated CARES Center in Gorham provide modern classroom and laboratory space that fosters creativity, collaboration, and technological advancements, which includes partnering with numerous businesses and higher education institutions in the Greater Portland Maine area. This is a full-time position located on our Gorham Campus with a starting annual salary up to $45,000. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of related experience.
  • Experience with project coordination in an academic or equally complex setting.
  • Computer proficiency - intermediate to advanced.
