About The Position

The corporate accounting manager is responsible for managing corporate accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role collaborates with internal and corporate departments to support financial processes, maintain compliance, and ensure alignment across corporate accounting activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required
  • Three to five years of experience in an accounting role required
  • Three to five years of property management experience required
  • Direct management experience is required
  • Advanced level knowledge of MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (including Excel functions)
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Creates a climate in which associates want to do their best by leading and communicating a shared vision with associates and providing coaching and development

  • Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing and Preventing Discrimination and Harassment training and other courses, if assigned

Nice To Haves

  • CPA license is preferred
  • Prior experience in Yardi Voyager or other equivalent systems is a plus
  • Knowledge of GAAP in the multi-family property management industry is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day corporate accounting activities, including general ledger oversight, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financials are accurate and complete
  • Assist with and maintain property mapping and GL mapping across multiple accounting platforms to ensure consistent and accurate reporting
  • Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in accordance with GAAP and company policies
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Support internal reviews and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and documentation
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., client accounting, marketing, payroll, and operations) to support business initiatives and financial processes
  • Ensure integrity of the general ledger and consistency across financial systems
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
  • Provide guidance and support to accounting staff, including training and review of work products, as applicable
  • Perform other tasks as required when directed
