Basic Purpose: Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities for conducting specialized training and staff development programs at an assigned correctional facility, at a training academy or for a department region/division. This includes evaluating and determining employee training needs, preparing required curriculum, and conducting training on various topics and skills. Level I This is the basic entry level at a facility or district. At this level employees perform routine professional level work in completing various training activities. This may include conducting various types of training using existing materials and plans, assisting in the development and coordination of training programs and maintaining training records. Level II This is the career level of this job family. Employees are assigned full responsibility for developing and conducting various types of training and related activities in a correctional training program at a facility, unit, or district. This will include preparing any required lesson plans or other materials, conducting classes, workshops or seminars, evaluating participant results, preparing required reports and other related activities.
