About The Position

The Administrative Office of the Courts is the operational arm of the Judicial Branch. The court system employs nearly 3,300 personnel who support 406 elected justices, judges, and circuit court clerks. The Department of Family and Juvenile Services has an immediate need for a Court Designated Worker positions in Hardin County. Performs specialized intake work on juveniles who have public or status offense actions brought against them. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Requirements

  • Associates Degree
  • 1 year of work-related experience
  • Job requires general knowledge of the concepts of juvenile delinquency and the juvenile justice process; interpersonal communication and writing skills.
  • High school diploma and 3 years job related experience

Responsibilities

  • Receives public and status offense complaints against juveniles.
  • Arranges placements for juveniles taken into custody by law enforcement officers.
  • Conducts preliminary inquiry on complaints filed against juveniles.
  • Recommends formal processing or informal disposition.
  • Formulates and supervises diversion agreements.
  • Maintains records.
  • Keeps statistical information.
  • Other duties as assigned.
