About The Position

The Administrative Office of the Courts is the operational arm of the Judicial Branch. The court system employs nearly 3,300 personnel who support 406 elected justices, judges, and circuit court clerks. Family and Juvenile Services has an immediate need to fill a Court Designated Worker position in Oldham County. Performs specialized intake work on juveniles who have public, or status offense actions brought against them. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Requirements

  • EDUCATION: Associates Degree
  • EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: 1 year of work-related experience
  • Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
  • Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: High School Diploma & 3 years job related experience
  • SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Job requires general knowledge of the concepts of juvenile delinquency and the juvenile justice process; interpersonal communication and writing skills. Scheduling and organizing program-related meetings and events; and consultation, education, and training to staff and other groups.

Responsibilities

  • Receives public and status offense complaints against juveniles.
  • Arranges placements for juveniles taken into custody by law enforcement officers.
  • Conducts preliminary inquiry on complaints filed against juveniles.
  • Recommends formal processing or informal disposition.
  • Formulates and supervises diversion agreements.
  • Maintains records.
  • Keeps statistical information.
  • Must be organized and able to maintain a case file with all relative, up to date information.
  • Must be comfortable presenting in front of large groups.
  • Other duties as assigned.
