About The Position

Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Supervisor, Central Sterile Services for a Full Time, first shift role in Suffolk, VA! Hours are primarily from 730A 4P Monday to Friday with required call. About the department: Sentara Obici Hospital is a recognized Primary Stroke Center and Magnet hospital, with an average of 5,000 cases per year. The 40-person team supports seven operating rooms, and performs a diverse range of procedures including general, ortho, podiatry, vascular, GYN, spine, and plastics, utilizing advanced systems like DaVinci robotic technology. The team, comprising RNs, surgical assistants, surgical technologists and OR techs, works across Obici and Bell Harbor hospitals, with opportunities to assist in Obstetrics as needed. Sterile Services includes a tenured 12-member team with an experienced leadership team in place. The Central Sterile Services Technician II is responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments, medical equipment, and supplies used in patient care. This position operates and maintains sterilization equipment according to established procedures and standards. Examines medical equipment for defects and reports faulty equipment to appropriate personnel. Ensure compliance with all established local and federal health and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required
  • BLS within 90 days of hire Required
  • Unexpired Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required
  • 2 years of related experience required
  • Ability to transition between tasks efficiently required
  • Team work and communication skills required
