Job Description: Cleans, sterilizes, assembles, packages, and distributes patient care equipment, instruments and supplies. Disinfects, cleans, sorts, sterilizes, assembles, labels and stores instruments used for surgical procedures. Assists in managing repair, replacement and new instruments for OR. Will assist Supervisor in maintain computerized real time inventory for Surgical Services and inventory in Central Supply. Keeps par levels up to date, increase/decrease as necessary to prevent overstocking or not having ample supplies.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Ability to read and understand instructions and keep simple records/logs.
Ability to utilize menu-driven computer software specifically designed for job functions.
Incumbent will be required to attain BLS certification within three months of employment.
No previous experience required but familiarity with sterilization procedures in preferred.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of sterilizing procedures, techniques and equipment.
Knowledge of medical and surgical supplies and instruments.
One year experience as CSS Technician.
