About The Position

The Cultural Programs Coordinator is responsible for designing, coordinating, and executing high-quality cultural, educational, and artistic programming that enhances the intellectual, social, and emotional well-being of our members. This role is ideal for a creative, organized professional with a strong appreciation for theatre, music and the arts who values excellence, hospitality, and meaningful engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Arts Administration, Theatre, Fine Arts, Cultural Studies, Communications, Event Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–3 years of experience coordinating cultural, arts, or theatrical programming (professional, educational, or community-based)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of theatre, performing arts, and cultural programming
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Creative mindset with attention to detail and a commitment to excellence
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
  • Comfort working with a diverse population and engaging older adults in meaningful ways

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a diverse calendar of cultural programs, including lectures, theatrical performances, musical events, art exhibitions, workshops, and special events
  • Program development must include cultural diversity and appeal to a wide audience
  • Develop and maintain relationships with theatres, performing artists, musicians, educators, galleries, and cultural institutions
  • Coordinate on-site performances, staged readings, artist talks, and arts-based workshops
  • Collaborate with members, committees, and internal departments to ensure programs align with member interests and community standards
  • Manage program logistics including scheduling, contracts, budgeting, and on-site execution
  • Oversee and coordinate calendar usage of multiple meeting rooms, performance spaces, and common areas to support cultural programming and special events.
  • Evaluate program success and member satisfaction to continuously enhance offerings
  • Ensure all programs reflect the community’s high standards of quality, professionalism, and hospitality
