Pima County Conservation Lands & Resources is seeking a Cultural Resources Preservation Analyst to help steward and protect the County’s diverse cultural and historic resources. This position supports cultural resource monitoring and documentation on County lands, contributes to research and planning efforts, and plays a role in public education and volunteer stewardship programs. Working under the direction of the Cultural Resources Preservation Manager, the Analyst collaborates with Tribal governments, agencies, and community partners to support responsible, long-term management of cultural resources across Pima County. This position supports the stewardship and protection of Pima County’s cultural resources through a combination of fieldwork, research, public education, and interagency collaboration. Under the supervision of the Cultural Resources Preservation Manager, responsibilities include conducting archival and GIS-based background research, performing cultural resources field surveys and assessments, and monitoring conservation lands and easements. The role involves data entry, analysis, and report preparation, as well as facilitating educational programs for the public. The position assists in updating management plans, supporting volunteer programs, including the Site Steward Program, and coordinating with Tribal governments, agencies, and stakeholders under the guidance of the Preservation Manager. This classification is in the unclassified service and is exempt from the Pima County Merit System Rules.
