About The Position

Reporting to the Senior Curriculum Development Manager, the Curriculum Development Manager works primarily on the Shared Services team within Training Services, who help enable efficient resource management, promote cross-departmental collaboration, and support our worker-facing staff so they can focus on delivering high-impact programs. The Curriculum Development Manager independently directs the work of an instructional design team and is responsible for team outcomes. The individual in this role ensures the use of evidence-based instructional design methodologies in the development of effective and engaging instructional materials for instructor-led, self-directed, virtual classroom, web-based, and/or blended learning platforms. While each RISE employee is assigned to a specific team, we operate within a collaborative shared services model that encourages cross-departmental support. Some employees contribute to multiple teams, allowing us to leverage resources more efficiently. This structure enables our staff to focus on delivering high-impact programs that advance our mission, ensuring every resource is used strategically to drive meaningful change.

  • Computer and Software-Based Skills and Project Management: Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Proficient in Articulate 360 Storyline
  • Project management software (Asana preferred)
  • 1-2 years of experience managing projects and people in curriculum development.
  • Expertise in adult learning theory, universal design, and instructional design and development in Articulate 360 Storyline.
  • Demonstrated commitment to leading on equity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership and Supervision: Supervises, coaches, and supports Curriculum Services Team in planning, designing, developing, and delivering, multi-modality instructional materials.
  • Supports Instructional Designers by assigning, reassigning, directing, and reviewing work to ensure quality, consistency, alignment with partner requirements, and on-time delivery of all assets.
  • Routinely meets with supervisor to discuss team direction and strategy, share project status updates, and troubleshoot and resolve challenges.
  • Scopes, costs, and plans for future projects and initiatives.
  • Leads the recruiting and onboarding of new team members.
  • Provides and receives feedback constructively, modeling a growth mindset and collaborative leadership.
  • Manages and reports on confidential personnel and leadership matters with discretion and professionalism.
  • Champions RISE’s REDI framework and vision, leading teams to address systemic barriers and improve policies and procedures.
  • Curriculum Development Strategy and Operations: Ensures state-mandated curriculum is being developed effectively and efficiently and is adhering to program standards.
  • Ensures continuous improvement and curriculum alignment with learner needs.
  • Creates detailed project deliverables, progress reports, and communication materials for external and internal partners, including state agencies and RISE leadership.
  • Proposes, updates, implements, and communicates program changes, including new or updated curriculum development standards, policies and procedures.
  • Submits deliverables on time, within scope, and meeting or exceeding quality standards.
  • Cross Departmental Collaboration: Partners with RISE programs to develop, plan, and implement workforce development programs, with a focus on care career pathways for facility-based long-term care workers and homecare workers.
  • All other duties as assigned.
