Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Customs Brokerage for both air and ocean shipments.
Excellent leadership skills, such as being approachable and able to train others.
Must be a team player, proactive, and have a flexible attitude.
Ability to exercise a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
Good communication skills (verbal and written).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of Customs Brokerage software; experience working with Cargowise is a plus.
Customs Brokerage license is required.

Responsibilities

Provide and maintain effective customer service and satisfaction.
Delegate work assignments among team members and assist them with resolving customer shipment-related issues.
Act as a role model for the department and address any team member’s issues with the Brokerage manager.
Train team members and assist with any work-related questions.
Ensure team members comply with corporate policies and meet company performance standards.
Address team members’ concerns with the brokerage manager.
Assist with team members’ and managers’ workload in their absence.
Perform duties under general supervision and report any issues to the manager.
Process Customs Brokerage for air and ocean shipments.
Data entry and processing of various import-related documentation for submission to U.S. Customs and PGAs (Participating Government Agencies).
Follow up on Customs matters and resolve problems.
Answer both customer inquiries and inter-company inquiries.
Handle remote filings.
Classify goods in the harmonized tariff schedule (broad range of commodities).
Perform other related duties and projects as requested or assigned by manager and supervisors.
