About The Position

Legacy Supply Chain is hiring a Customs & Compliance Manager who will lead the Customs Brokerage department, ensuring full compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and profitability. This role oversees daily customs entry operations, compliance processes, team development, P&L management, and acts as the escalation point for all customs and trade-related issues. The manager will also support sales initiatives, onboarding of new clients, and development of supply chain solutions. This specific role will sit on the board as a licensed customs broker. Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of customer supply chains.
  • Strong understanding of U.S., Asia, and EU customs regulations.
  • Experience in multinational customs & VAT environments.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical, problem‑solving, and negotiation abilities.
  • Relationship building and sales mindset.
  • Financial acumen and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in customs software and internal systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree + 7 years or more in U.S. customs brokerage, international trade, import operations, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of leadership/management experience.
  • Active U.S. Customs Broker License (must maintain renewal requirements).
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) certification.
  • Expert knowledge of customs valuation, classification, compliance, audits, and trade programs.
  • Strong understanding of international trade, logistics, and supply chain.
  • Ability to multitask, operate independently, and work across multiple business units.
  • Proficiency with customs software and related systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual ability (Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, etc.) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain active U.S. Customs Broker License and oversee all company customs-related licenses.
  • Serve as primary escalation contact for all Customs & Compliance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations and import requirements; monitor regulatory changes.
  • Oversee preparation and accuracy of customs entries, documentation, valuation, classification, and compliance audits.
  • Lead and develop the customs team; assess training needs, conduct reviews, and ensure use of system tools.
  • Manage customer relationships, drive customer retention, and lead business reviews.
  • Support revenue growth through pricing, negotiation, and identifying new opportunities.
  • Manage P&L for assigned customers; track key metrics, reporting, forecasting, and performance.
  • Oversee onboarding of new customers and act as SME for new opportunities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (domestic, warehousing, and other business units).
  • Continuously improve operational processes, SOPs, and productivity standards.
