About The Position

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. is now accepting applications for its Summer 2026 Intern Program. This exciting opportunity offers a paid, 10-week experience for selected UNDERGRAD OR GRAD (based on HM request) students. The program will run from June 1 to August 7. Eligible students will be seniors or recent graduates, possess U.S. work authorization, and be able to work full-time on a 5-day-per-week on-site schedule. Additionally, participation in this program requires that you be located in the United States for the duration of the engagement. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so early submission is encouraged. The application window is open until March 15, 2026; however, it may close earlier if all available roles are filled. The Security team, based in Mountain View, CA, plays a critical role in ensuring the security of all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This team is responsible for implementing robust security measures across the entire development process, including code scanning (both Static and Dynamic analysis) and infrastructure scanning. The team works in close collaboration with the Corporate Privacy and Legal teams to ensure that regulatory requirements are seamlessly integrated into the product buildout process. This ensures that Samsung's products meet the highest standards of security and compliance. As an Intern in this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and partner teams, including Engineering, DevOps, and Corporate Security. Your primary responsibilities will include gathering information, developing, and performing Software Threat Assessments, as well as providing remediation recommendations using commercial-grade security toolsets. These activities are crucial for protecting customer-sensitive data and assets within Samsung's perimeter. Additionally, you will conduct open-source research on security technology stacks and data collection to identify potential security risks and emerging global threats that could impact Samsung's software products. This role will provide you with valuable hands-on experience in cybersecurity engineering and contribute to Samsung's mission of delivering secure and reliable products to its customers. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Completion of Cyber Security coursework at school.
  • Understanding of Cloud Service Providers (AWS/GCP/Azure) and their respective security frameworks.
  • Programming knowledge in Python and/or Java, with experience in cloud application development.
  • Exposure to Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs, tools, and concepts, including how they can be applied to enhance cybersecurity measures.
  • Awareness of core cybersecurity concepts and common vulnerabilities, such as OWASP Top 10, SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), and more.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of building cloud applications in AWS/GCP, including understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM), Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), and other relevant services.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively present and document findings, including the ability to create clear and concise reports.
  • A proactive mindset with a strong desire to learn and grow within a technical environment.
  • Candidates should be eager to take on new challenges and expand their knowledge in cybersecurity.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred academic fields of study: Computer Science with a Cyber Security concentration.
  • Rising Seniors or recent graduates are strongly preferred.
