About The Position

We are seeking a detail oriented Data Governance Analyst to join our Enterprise Data Governance team and help elevate enterprise data as a trusted, strategic asset. This role is responsible for supporting the execution of data governance and data quality standards across business critical data domains. The Data Governance Analyst will apply governance policies and standards through effective communication, education, and the use of governance tools to ensure alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements. This role strengthens transparency and trust in data by promoting clear ownership and stewardship, supporting issue resolution processes, and enabling effective stakeholder engagement to foster a data driven culture. In addition, the analyst will champion enterprise data quality by driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the reliability, accuracy, and overall value of governed data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis or related roles.
  • SQL proficiency and experience with catalog or lineage tooling; prefer Purview, Collibra or Profisee as transferable experience.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Experience working in a life and health insurance operational environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Azure Databricks for scalable profiling and rule execution.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., NAIC, HIPAA).
  • Certification in data governance or data management (e.g., DAMA CDMP).
  • Experience in Medicare programs and financial services domains.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and curate governance artifacts using Microsoft Purview for cataloging and lineage, and Databricks for scalable profiling and data quality rule execution.
  • Partner with QA data analysts and Python developers to profile data assets to measure and report on quality dimensions, conduct data quality assessments, and implement data remediation and correction plans.
  • Maintain and enforce master data and reference data mappings including point‑in‑time relationships and exception rules.
  • Partner explicitly with the Data Governance Committee and steward network; prepare inputs, track decisions, and record outcomes.
  • Document data flows and standardize metadata practices to improve consistency, usability, and support enterprise data initiatives.
  • Partner with Compliance to apply and maintain data classification and tagging standards in data tools to support compliance, protection, and lineage transparency across the data lifecycle.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of curated ("gold") data assets and user acceptance testing (UAT) workflows for trusted analytics and compliance.
  • Facilitate the translation of business challenges into Data Governance and data quality requirements by partnering with Business Analysts who create user stories, use cases, process flows, or solution concepts.
  • Identify data governance and data quality risks early and work with business analysts to ensure requirements and supporting mitigation plans are developed.
  • Provide data governance input to business analysts during solution planning by ensuring data quality standards and stewardship expectations are documented.
  • Collaborate across departments to resolve enterprise data issues, drive initiatives to closure, achieve desired results, and support change as needed.
  • Define and track success metrics for governance adoption and data quality improvements across enterprise data assets.
