About The Position

As a Data Analyst you will join the Data Conversion Services Team with the Plan Services department and be responsible for managing the conversion of client data from various record-keeping systems into Corebridge Financial’s proprietary systems. The Data Analyst participates in meetings and ongoing communications to collaborate with the record-keeper and internal project management and client data end users. With minimal guidance and direction, the Data Analyst participates in conversion design sessions with the client and produce design documents and mapping/transformation documents. The Analyst will research, analyze and recommend data conversion strategies for complex retirement plans, analyze client data in the format it is received, identify data deficiencies, define remediation of deficiencies and construct a statement of work that properly outlines the conversion process to reformat into Corebridge Financial’s data requirements. With limited support, the Data Analyst will facilitate the migration and testing of static data and transaction data for the plan conversion. The Data Analyst must be able to effectively communicate Corebridge Financial’s data requirements with the client, record-keeper or project team, negotiate or consult the client or recordkeeper to best practices and perform a code-based programming solution to achieve a successful data conversion. The Data Analyst is expected to be a go-to team member for each conversion while producing high quality and consistent on-time results. The Data Analyst will have full accountability for the execution of the data conversion development life-cycle and methodology laid out by the project lead. This includes requirements solution design, client acceptance, timeline creation, implementation, unit testing, deployment tools, and maintenance. The Data Analyst is responsible for building tools that transform massive amounts of data into the Corebridge Financial product requirements and formatting. The Data Analyst will be able to identify deficiencies and have an eye for efficiency through automation and be experienced in SQL, Microsoft Access, Excel and proficient with ETL tools. The Data Analyst will be expected to follow through on recommendations and directives provided by project leaders. There are other responsibilities that include developing applications, modules, and reports for internal and external business partners SQL Server, MS Access, Cognos and Discovery. The Data Analyst will perform data migration audits, reconciliation and exception reporting as necessary. With appropriate training and guidance, the Data Analyst will be expected to demonstrate a combination of business knowledge; where they must be able to understand the logic behind data as explained by senior team leaders, including knowing where it came from, what it means, and the data's end purpose, and the technology impacts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • 5+ years of related experience is required.
  • Extensive project management experience with solid knowledge of the various retirement plans and subsequent provisions and data elements associated.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation.
  • Proficient with computer software.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify root cause, and provide and/or develop an appropriate solution for resolution.
  • Proven experience handling multiple priorities.
  • Proactive problem-solving ability with solutions-oriented demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently within a team and make decisions while considering client requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and effectively communicate broader operations aspects to help influence decisions across departments for services being implemented.
  • Work closely with the assigned Internal and External business partners to ensure a smooth transition at the end of the project.
  • Attend project kick-off related meetings with the plan sponsor, consultants, executive sales team, TPA’s, vendors and internal subject matter experts.
  • Provide consultative solutions for Corebridge Financial Services best practices and ensure details are understood so that our systems are established correctly to include but not limited to plan design details that affect pricing, eligibility, data exchanges, contracts, and transactional processing.
  • Develop, communicate, maintain and manage the project plan and timeline to ensure deadlines, milestones and success criteria are met or exceeded through timely coordination and communication of the details necessary to complete the conversion by the agreed upon effective date.
  • Identify and manage timely and effective resolution of any issues that surface during the handling of all assigned duties.
  • Track and report activity results in a "real time" fashion via internal databases and reporting tools.
  • Conduct lessons learned at the end of each conversion phase for continuous improvement purposes.
  • Develop and execute plans to improve customer satisfaction and overall quality.
  • Identify out of scope services and escalate as needed to ensure all services are included in pricing.
  • Must be proactive in managing issues by anticipating the outcome of the process and ensuring all necessary steps have been taken.
  • Model and coach others on Customer Service Excellence within Data Conversion Services.
  • Identify gaps and facilitate training needs within the team.
  • Perform final quality review for all internal systems and external client-facing systems for conversion related items.
