About The Position

Under the supervision of the Bureau Chief, this position is responsible for providing management, motivation, direction, and coordination for members within their section. This position supervises the Data Collection Section to include Criminal Justice Data Transparency, the Summary Reporting System, the Florida Incident-Based Reporting System, the Uniform Arrest Affidavit, and the Use-of-Force Data Collection. This position also makes recommendations to resolve issues and problems within the section, and provides research and analysis of laws, rules, and regulations that could impact criminal justice information programs. This position is also responsible for planning and implementing new programs related to criminal justice information and assisting with the strategic planning for the bureau.

Responsibilities

  • Formulating objectives by outlining goals, activities and special projects which are consistent with the section and bureau overall objectives and mission, and conveying them to section members
  • Consulting with section supervisors and administrative staff to resolve programmatic, administrative and operational issues and problems
  • Recommending operational policies and assisting in the establishment of procedures and procedural manuals to implement policies, achieve operational objectives or resolve operation problems
  • Providing overall management and directions of all activities in the section
  • Monitoring operational activities to meet objectives and ensure compliance with state and federal laws and operational goals
  • Acting as Section liaison with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, internal and external customers, and various governmental agencies regarding criminal justice data
  • Participating in the overall management, planning and policy development of the Bureau and Division
  • Developing and conducting management studies to assist the Bureau and the Division in streamlining functions to promote efficient and effective accomplishments of criminal justice information objectives
  • Providing research, analysis, and assimilation of information relative to laws, rules and regulations that directly or indirectly have an impact on criminal justice data.
