About The Position

The HIT/Data Support Specialist, working under the supervision of the Director of  Health Informatics/IT, is a key member of the patient care team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service, supporting both clinical and administrative staff. This role involves supporting clinical and operational reporting, accreditation processes, hardware equipment, special projects, patient engagement, and performance improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Minimum: a Associate’s Degree in Health Information Management or related field.
  • 2+ Years of Health Information Management/IT experience.
  • Experience with healthcare data sources and familiarity with clinical terminology.
  • Application support experience.
  • Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, listening, questioning, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, manage multiple tasks, and competing priorities.
  • Current Georgia Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Create instructional documentation for running reports in EMR and Data Reporting platforms.
  • Assist with daily/monthly clinical and operational reports.
  • Create data visualization/dashboards using MS Excel and other platforms.
  • Assist with reporting team with various data cleanup and data analysis projects supporting various accreditation and federal/state reporting requirements including Uniform Data Systems and NCQA PCMH.
  • Create detailed reports and presentations that communicate data findings to clinical and administrative staff.
  • Provide support for special projects and HIT implementations.
  • Provide friendly and professional support to all staff for eClinicalWorks EHR by obtaining information on issue/request. Communicate information to IT Director or MSP who will follow the issue to completion.
  • When requested, configure new areas of the eClinicalWorks system – i.e. Templates, Form, Letters, etc. Training will be provided.
  • Provide basic troubleshooting assistance for hardware related items – i.e. printers, scanners, PCs, desk phones etc. Escalate to MSP when necessary.
  • Support the adoption and utilization of the patient portal by educating patients and assisting with set-up, password resets and creating educational materials.
  • Assist in implementation of patient engagement technologies.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to enhance patient experience through technology.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, including HIPAA, when handling patient data.
  • Implement data security measures to protect sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Work closely with clinical, administrative, and IT teams to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
  • Establish and maintain professional and working relationships with all FCPC staff.
  • Provide training and support to staff on data management and analysis tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
