About The Position

The SQL Database Administrator is responsible for providing technical support for the database environment including overseeing the development and organization of the databases, assessment and implementation of new technologies, and providing solutions in long-term perspective on the relationship of database technology to the business opportunities. The SQL Database Administrator incumbent is responsible for implementing effective DBMS security practices, and coordinating issues with Security and Server support teams.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or IT related field is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience with Microsoft SQL server and associated tools in a multiple database environment.
• Experience and good understanding with, server-client computing and relational database environments
• Experience in relational database technology, netezza preferred.
• Experience with Stored Procedures and SQL including DDL, DML, or DCL.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL server utilities and tools including Backup Copy, Recovery and performance tuning preferred.
• Experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques
• Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices
• Exposure to database modeling and design techniques.
