Job Summary
The specific goal of the internship would be to optimize long running SQL statements and index reports to delete/modify indexes.

Requirements

• The intern candidate should be a full-time student at an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor or higher degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• The Candidate should have knowledge of relational database concepts, experience with Microsoft SQL Server – specifically Database Design and Performance Tuning is a plus.
• Candidate should have exposure to all phases of software development life cycle.
• Strong communication and team skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a small team.
• Positive attitude and outstanding customer service orientation.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• experience with Microsoft SQL Server – specifically Database Design and Performance Tuning is a plus.

Responsibilities

• The intern would review the execution plans for all STORED PROCEDURES for optimization, making recommendations for improvement, then coding, testing, and implementing approved recommendations.
• The intern would identify updates needed to User ID logging fields, coding, testing, and implementing those changes.
• The intern will analyze existing DB tables/queries, then alter, test, and implement improvements will be key.

• The rate of pay for this role at the noted location is $24.00 / hour.
• In addition to base pay, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
