About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Deep Well Operator works under minimal supervision, receives broad work instructions, and applies decision making skill to resolve moderately complex issues. The incumbent provides advice and guidance to less experienced team members and may oversee the work of other operators or laborers. The Deep Well Operator ensures that pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment and other wastewater treatment are operational at all times.

Requirements

  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical procedures, write reports, and correspondence.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend documents such as (but not limited to) operational, technical, process, safety and quality instructions.
  • Understands the dangers of working with or around chemicals and able to read and understand safety data sheets to take the necessary steps required to mitigate those dangers.
  • Willingness to provide input on working practices to endure departmental goals are met and exceeded.
  • Has confidence to inform colleagues of unsafe working practices or conditions.
  • A positive attitude and high level of mental resilience.
  • Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules set forth, promotes the Company’s safety standards.
  • Basic Computer Proficiency.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, internal and external customers.
  • 2 - 4 Years of overall relevant work experience
  • Current 40-hour HAZWOPER Training or ability to pass course upon hire.
  • If regulations for the facility require it, ability to acquire required certification(s) upon hire.
  • Experience operating and maintaining injection wells.

Nice To Haves

  • 4 years of experience working at a site regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains work area and other areas in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Operates general housekeeping equipment, including but not limited to mower, weed eater and pressure washer.
  • Performs all responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations that govern job performance; ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable federal and state requirements.
  • Operates the deep well to meet the productivity goals of the business.
  • Makes decisions when necessary related to wellhead pressure readings, tank readings and capacities.
  • Prepares, maintains and tracks daily records relative to tank and deep well operations and other related systems, including regulatory agency and other documentation.
  • Maintains preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance documentation and files.
  • Maintain well injection parameters to stay within permit conditions
  • Occasionally deals with external customers and vendors and maintains professionalism throughout these interactions.
  • Operates heavy equipment such as forklift and excavator.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.
