About The Position

We are looking for a Deputy Clerk I! The purpose of this classification is to perform clerical work functions associated with processing/maintaining information, documentation, and records and responding to requests for information related to the Court System.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) months of experience in clerical/general office work or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job

Responsibilities

  • Processes court and departmental documents in accordance with established procedures and timelines
  • prepares, reviews, files, and distributes forms, reports, correspondence, court orders, judgments, subpoenas, citations, warrants, and related records
  • Processes and coordinates case activities
  • assigns case numbers and prepares documentation
  • Provides customer service to the public and other stakeholders by greeting visitors, answering telephone inquiries, explaining procedures, and responding to routine requests for information
  • Receives and processes payments for court and departmental fees
  • records transactions, issues receipts, balances cash drawers, and forwards revenues in accordance with established procedures
  • Maintains case files and performs clerical and data entry functions including organizing and filing documents, entering and verifying data in computer systems, generating reports, and operating standard office equipment
