About The Position

Madison Energy Infrastructure (“MEI”) believes in the power of clean energy infrastructure and has quickly emerged as a preeminent developer, investor, asset owner, and operator of distributed generation. This role represents a critical next step in MEI’s evolution toward offering direct, end-to-end services to Fortune 500 corporates, public entities, nonprofits, and other private customers alike. As a Summer 2026 Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting high-impact initiatives within the Development team. This role is designed to provide meaningful exposure to the clean energy industry, real project ownership, and the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing organization.

Requirements

  • A rising undergraduate Senior or graduate student
  • Interest and/or experience in renewable energy, environmental studies, engineering, or project management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Conformable with using Artificial Intelligence tools and capable of creating AI Agents to perform specific tasks
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, curious, and eager to learn

Responsibilities

  • Support the development team in evaluating potential solar project sites including high-level site research, including land use, zoning, and environmental constraints
  • Assist with market and policy research related to renewable energy and solar development
  • Help prepare internal materials such as project summaries, maps, & presentations and track project milestones, schedules, & documentation
  • Perform ad hoc research and administrative tasks to support active development efforts
  • Lead internal improvement initiatives for development team tools with guidance from subject matter experts
