About The Position

The Development Officer is a key member of the Educational Foundation team, responsible for driving fundraising efforts that support our mission of expanding scholarship opportunities and growing the endowment. This role manages a dedicated portfolio of individual and corporate donors, focusing on the full development cycle—qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. By securing new gifts and sponsorships, the Development Officer directly contributes to sustaining and increasing the Foundation’s impact, which currently includes managing over 600 scholarships totaling more than $1 million annually. Compensation for the Development Officer- Foundation is $57,761.60 - $66,414.40 annually. For submitting a complete application, please include a resume and cover letter.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Full-time experience in a foundation or organization, progressively responsible fundraising experience as well as a demonstrated success and evidence of ability to plan and execute a fund drive.
  • Demonstrated success in activities to coordinate, attract and close gift funding support educational institution or other non-profit, including face-to-face solicitation of gifts is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks for completion with limited oversight while utilizing independent judgment.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality with staff, donors and governing boards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, pleasant personality, diplomacy and tact, to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Three or more years of experience in a non-profit foundation or organization, preferably in higher education.
  • Experience with general fundraising principles and practices.
  • Support and understand development process: identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
  • Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT donor software or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated success in planning and implementing special events.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with direct supervisor to establish and achieve annual, quarterly and monthly fundraising goals.
  • Qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individual and corporate gifts.
  • Manage a portfolio of donors and gift prospects, ensuring personalized and strategic engagement.
  • Coordinate and implement the Foundation’s expansive scholarship program including retention and solicitation of new scholarships while working closely with the Financial Assistance Office to support the administration of Foundation scholarships.
  • Provide support for all special events in the department.
  • Coordinate fundraising and stewardship activities.
  • Assist in planning, managing and implementing the Foundation’s extensive college-wide Employee Campaign, including the development and support of the volunteer committee.
  • Establish and adhere to budget for the area of responsibility.
  • Maintain confidential and sensitive information.
  • Participate in the ICC Educational Foundation Board of Directors meeting.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
