He or she is also responsible for the normal preventative maintenance including lubrication and filter changes. Objective: To setup and run the equipment to or better than established run rates while maintaining a high-quality product. Equipment : Youngshin Zenith 210S Plus Bobst SPO 160-S

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • 3-5+ years in industry specific experience
  • Proficient in math, writing and computer skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effective interpersonal skills.
  • Must also have working knowledge of Excel Spreadsheets and Outlook software.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess a working knowledge of industry specific information. (Die cutting)
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Experience with machinery or power tools required
  • Must be able to read measurements (tape, rule, caliper)
  • Job function requires lifting to a maximum of 50 pounds with intermittent stooping and bending.
  • Job function requires the ability to work in a standing position continuously.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Work environment is not temperature controlled.

  • Previous die cut operator experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and Support safety initiatives and training within Corrugated facility.
  • Adhere to LOTO polices and procedures when entering or servicing equipment.
  • Maintain production schedule to meet cost, quality and customer service goals
  • Complete required tooling set up for changeovers in accordance with best practices established by the department and resolve tooling issues during production run.
  • Nick and rubber steel rule dies as needed per equipment guidelines.
  • Strike in or set counter plate for press per job requirements (matrix, phenolic, steel)
  • Set cutting in accordance with best practices established by the department.
  • Adjust stripping components as needed.
  • Adjust blanking components as needed.
  • Perform equipment/machine operation inspections including examining the die for defects.
  • Inspect product quality as individual loads are ejected from the machine and make necessary modifications to the die to correct any quality issues caused by the die cutting process; ensure bad product is removed; and notify the Supervisor of any quality issues.
  • Complete documentation for quality, production, and machine performance.
  • Use Warehouse Management System to generate work in process tags that corresponds to the item.
  • Use manual pallet jack to transfer material to feeder section and to remove material from machine stacker/delivery section.
  • Tooling evaluation and die log Evaluate tooling and provide status for previous jobs.
  • Make notes on job jacket and die log sticker (re-knife / re-work)
  • Responsible for maintaining integrity of die tooling storage
  • Mount emboss / deboss dies
  • Train other Die Cutter operators as required.
  • Communicate with other departments (status updates)
  • Suggest and implement improvements within the department and/or other departments.
  • Perform daily housekeeping activities.
  • Responsible for ensuring safety procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and hazard free work environment. Also responsible for being conscious of safety guidelines and reporting safety hazard corrections when indicated.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including GMP, PPE, and LOTO.
