About The Position

The Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing and serving meals to residents in our healthcare facility, ensuring that dietary needs are met while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Requirements

  • An understanding of dietary restrictions and special dietary needs is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment is important for success in this role.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Capable of standing and walking short distances for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry objects more than 50 pounds.
  • Stoop and bend at the knees, twisting from side to side at the waist.
  • Reach above, below, and at shoulder level.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in healthcare or food service settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Meal Preparation: Prepares and cooks meals according to the specific dietary requirements and preferences of residents. This includes the following recipes and adhering to safety and health standards.
  • Food Delivery: Delivers meals to residents, ensuring that food is served at the correct temperature and promptly.
  • Sanitation and Cleanliness: Maintains cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and ensuring compliance with health regulations.
  • Dietary Monitoring: Assists in monitoring residents’ dietary needs and preferences, reporting any changes to the dietitian or healthcare providers.
  • Inventory management: Helps manage food inventory, including stocking supplies and placing orders as needed to ensure adequate food availability.
  • Resident Interaction: Communicates with residents about their dietary needs and preferences, providing information and support regarding nutrition.
  • Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Compliance in the performance of their duties.
  • Adheres to Salemtowne’s Policies and Procedures regarding the Compliance Program of the organization and is timely in reporting any possible concerns.
  • Follows all local, state, and federal regulations as they pertain to their position.
  • Adheres to the Organization’s Policies and Procedures covering Privacy and Security in Compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Supports Salemtowne Shines culture and philosophy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or as may be required to meet emergencies.
