Position Overview: The Dietitian performs nutritional assessments on patients and works with medical team to prescribe and monitor care plans for nutritional needs.

Requirements

  • Currently licensed as a Registered Dietitian
  • Candidates who are not yet registered but are eligible to sit for the exam may still be considered- must sit for and pass exam within 6-months of hire.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree
  • 1 year of experience in an acute care setting

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a department representative as part of the hospital clinical team
  • Adherence to all local, state and federal safety and sanitation codes
  • Menu development and implementation
  • Work directly with patients to explain diets/supplements in response to diagnosis
  • Provide recommendations for enteral and parenteral nutrition support
  • Assess patients for malnutrition and develop nutrition interventions and care plans to address identified nutrition diagnoses
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) using food service management software
  • Offer inpatient nutritional counseling
  • Is flexible in assuming other appropriate responsibilities, not noted above.
