About The Position

The Director of Data Enablement is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and scaling of a trusted, high-performing data foundation for Customer Engagement Services (CES). This role ensures consistent, accurate, and scalable data structures that support reliable reporting, analytics, and insight generation across CES, with the ability to expand to additional lines of business and markets. This leader will manage a team focused on data enablement and partner closely with Data Engineering and cross-functional Walmart business teams to optimize data jobs, processes, and connectivity. The Director plays a critical role in accelerating insights, establishing a single source of truth for dashboards, and enabling data-driven solutions that address customer pain points and improve associate effectiveness. Our Customer Engagement Services (CES) team, formerly the Walmart Care team, is leading big changes to improve both customer experience and business outcomes. We're using advanced technology, AI, and data to turn customer service into a key driver of impact—not just a support function. We’re helping leaders gain powerful customer insights, improve satisfaction, reduce issues, and cut costs—all aligned with Walmart’s Every Day Low Cost (EDLC) approach. As the Insights and Analytics (IA) team in CES, our mission is to turn customer interactions into actionable insights that shape strategy and deliver measurable results across the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or related field and 5 years' experience in data analytics or related field OR 7 years' experience in data analytics or related field.
  • 4 years' supervisory experience OR experience leading cross-functional teams

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in data, analytics, or data platform roles

Responsibilities

  • Data Foundation & Scalability: Build and maintain a standardized, scalable CES data foundation that ensures consistent and correct data structures across business units, markets, and future expansions.
  • Data Governance & Stewardship: Establish, lead and execute CES data governance & stewardships practices. Make sure key meta data information, such as definitions, quality standards, lineage, and usage guidelines are documented in user friendly manner. ensuring data is trusted, compliant, and decision ready.
  • Collaboration and Strategy Lead and influence 4ITB teams in close partnership with Data Engineering, owning the data enablement roadmap and driving execution to deliver measurable improvements in data trust, usability, and business impact. Proactively surface progress, outcomes, and success to senior stakeholders
  • Collaboration with Data Engineering: Work closely with Data Engineering teams to ensure reliable data ingestion, transformation, governance, and production pipelines that support fast and accurate data delivery.
  • Data Job & Process Optimization: Lead the upgrade and optimization of data jobs and processes to improve performance, reduce latency, and accelerate time-to-insight.
  • Single Source of Truth for Reporting & Insights: Ensure all dashboards and analytics are powered by consistent, current, and trusted data sources, reducing duplication and misalignment across teams.
  • Cross-Walmart Data Enablement: Partner with business teams across Walmart to identify valuable data sources, expand CES data connectivity, and unlock new analytical and insight opportunities.
  • Customer-Focused Insight Enablement: Enable data and insights that help identify, prioritize, and solve customer pain points, improving customer experience and operational outcomes.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the Data Enablement team, fostering strong ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Drive ongoing enhancements to data standards, processes, and enablement capabilities, incorporating emerging technologies and best practices.
