About The Position

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Business & Account Development to lead growth initiatives across the Western US. In this role, you will manage a team of Relationship Managers, develop strategic partnerships, and drive adoption of renewable energy solutions through collaboration with EPCs, distributors, and technology partners. You will combine high-level strategy with hands-on execution, identifying opportunities, building relationships, and expanding the platform’s reach. This role offers a fast-paced, customer-centric environment with significant impact on regional growth and market penetration. The ideal candidate is a motivated leader with deep industry knowledge, excellent relationship-building skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, purpose-driven organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA is a plus
  • 8–10+ years of experience in sales or business development, preferably within the residential solar, renewable energy, or cleantech sectors
  • Proven ability to ideate, develop, and execute strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience managing teams and fostering a high-performance, coaching-focused culture
  • Highly motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a track record of driving measurable business results
  • Ability and willingness to travel regionally up to 50% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Lead business development efforts in the Western region, driving growth of renewable energy solutions and platform adoption
  • Manage, mentor, and coach a team of Relationship Managers, fostering a high-performance culture with accountability and clear expectations
  • Build and maintain relationships with EPCs, distributors, and technology partners to identify and execute growth opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Technology, Finance, Revenue, and Operations, to ensure successful deployment of solutions
  • Monitor industry trends, regulations, and market dynamics to inform strategy and provide thought leadership
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to expand platform adoption and support regional objectives
  • Travel within the region (up to 50%) to engage partners and support business initiatives
