The Director, Digital Design is responsible for leading the execution and delivery of best-in-class digital design across artist storefronts, campaigns, and e-commerce experiences. This role sits at the intersection of brand expression, systemized design, and commercial performance, translating creative direction into scalable, high-quality digital output. Reporting into the VP Design & Direction , the Director, Digital Design partners closely with Creative Directors, Motion, and Content Production to ensure design work is cohesive, efficient, and aligned to the overarching creative vision. This role leads teams of designers, sets executional standards, and ensures that every deliverable meets the creative, functional, and commercial expectations. This is a hands-on leadership role for a design leader who thrives in execution, mentorship, and operational clarity, someone who can balance craft excellence with speed, scale, and consistency.

Requirements

  • 8–10 years of experience in digital design, with at least 3–5 years in a design leadership or management role.
  • Proven experience delivering digital design within e-commerce, brand, or campaign-driven environments.
  • Strong command of digital systems, layout, typography, and visual hierarchy across responsive platforms.
  • Experience leading and mentoring designers across multiple levels, with a focus on quality and growth.
  • Comfortable operating within structured creative systems while still pushing craft and innovation.
  • Strong collaborative instincts and the ability to partner effectively with Creative Directors, UX/UI, Motion, and Production teams.
  • Clear communicator who can give actionable feedback and maintain creative standards at scale.
  • Deep appreciation for music, culture, fashion, and digital storytelling.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within music, entertainment, fashion, or adjacent cultural industries strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day execution of digital design across artist sites, stores, campaigns, and CRM touchpoints.
  • Translate Creative Director vision into clear design direction, frameworks, and systems that scale across projects.
  • Manage and mentor teams of Senior, Mid-level, and Junior Digital Designers, ensuring high quality, consistency, and professional development.
  • Oversee the design delivery of multiple concurrent projects, balancing timelines, resources, and creative standards.
  • Partner closely with UX/UI Designers to ensure visual design and user experience are tightly integrated and commercially optimized.
  • Collaborate with Motion Design and Content Production to ensure static, motion, and content assets function as a unified system.
  • Establish and maintain digital design standards, templates, and best practices to improve efficiency and reduce rework.
  • Provide structured feedback, reviews, and quality control throughout the design process.
  • Partner with Digital Production to scope work accurately, plan timelines, and allocate resources effectively.
  • Support creative experimentation and iteration while ensuring final outputs meet delivery and performance requirements.
  • Act as a design point-of-contact for internal stakeholders, helping translate feedback into actionable design improvements.
