The Director, Field Safety leads an organization that provides safety and health expertise to Grainger sellers and Grainger customers to grow Safety and Health product and service revenue. Will partner with functional leadership to ensure Field Safety teams are working together to engage and close safety and health related business to exceed company financial targets. You will lead approximately 8 Sr Managers and 65 team members in total across the United States and Canada.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years experience in a related field.
  • MRO industry knowledge of the Safety and services areas.
  • Develop compelling business cases with an identified Return.
  • Financial skills and the ability to manage P&L for a business segment.
  • Motivate and inspire results through others.
  • Create compelling options for all partners.

Responsibilities

  • Participate with leadership in the strategic planning to develop goals and coordinate activities across the Field Safety organization.
  • Direct the activities for the Field Safety Specialist and Safety Services including the development of all planning to support achievement on our financial plans.
  • Grow capabilities of the Safety team to achieve all of our goals.
  • Set the approach for the activities of the Safety Team to include cascading goals, directing and motivating both direct and indirect team members; exercises full authority of a leader concerning workforce planning, staffing, performance appraisal, staff development, salary recommendations and terminations
  • Establish regular communication with important customers to maintain existing relationships and to sell and promote products to exceed sales goals.
  • Communicate with national accounts to resolve issues, expand sales potential and gather relevant market information
  • Lead the development of the annual plan and forecast, and manage monitoring against variances and controlling the budget.
