Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Finance leadership team in the role of Director – Finance. The Director-Finance is a senior finance leader responsible for driving strong financial outcomes through analytical rigor, accounting insight, and cross functional leadership. This role partners closely with operational leaders to ensure financial results are accurate, supportable, and aligned with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), while also translating complex financial information into actionable business insights. The Director provides review and oversight of key financial analyses, estimates, and revenue or expense drivers, ensuring assumptions and methodologies are appropriate, well documented, and compliant with accounting standards and internal policies. This role serves as a knowledge owner during close, audit, and review processes, helping to explain results, judgments, and variances. As a thought leader, the Director proactively identifies risks, opportunities, and improvement areas, influences best practices, and helps shape scalable, forward looking approaches to financial management. Success in this role requires strong GAAP knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to lead through influence in a complex, matrixed environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Requires 7-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business/healthcare related field is required.
  • Requires experience completing and presenting complex data analytics.
  • Requires knowledge of state and national regulatory agency guidelines and/or a working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or other industry standard guidelines.
  • Requires experience implementing large scale process improvement initiatives that drive measurable business results.
  • Requires experience successfully interacting with all levels of leadership, including executives, and presenting information in a concise, format that clearly conveys findings and recommended actions.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree and/or CPA is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews financial analyses, estimates, and reporting for accuracy, consistency, and GAAP alignment
  • Partners with Accounting on close support, audit readiness, and financial reviews
  • Applies accounting knowledge to anticipate issues and improve financial quality and controls
  • Serves as a trusted thought partner, driving continuous improvement and best practices
