About The Position

The Director, HR Business Partner for Lab Operations, will serve as a strategic partner to the VP of Lab Operations – North Region, driving human resource initiatives that align with business objectives and enhance organizational performance. This role focuses on developing and executing people strategies to attract, retain and develop top talent while fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration within lab operations. The Director will liaise with HR Centers of Excellence and the HR Service Center to ensure optimal HR collaboration and service levels for clients. This role supports multiple lab locations across the North Region. This position will be based in Pittsburgh, PA (hybrid).

Requirements

  • A BA/BS in HR or related field is required
  • At least 15 years Human Resources and relevant experience, including a demonstrated track record of success in an HRBP capacity
  • Proficiency in MS Office products
  • Highly effective leadership and strategic influencing skills
  • Ability to work effectively at multiple levels of the organization from front line to senior management
  • Ability to travel up to 25% within the North Region

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s degree strongly preferred (MBA, MA in Organizational Development, HR or related field)
  • SPHR certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serves as an active member of the Lab leadership team and can influence and challenge others at this level
  • Owns the People Strategy for assigned business to include organizational re-design, strategic workforce planning, total rewards solutions, succession planning and talent management, organizational development and employee engagement
  • Consults with senior leaders to develop and execute business strategies to build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures and process
  • Leverages insights from workforce analytics and employee feedback channels to influence decisions
  • Designs people solutions and initiatives
  • Coach, counsel and advise leaders
  • Optimize transformational change efforts by providing consulting support, guidance, and a framework for leading and managing change
  • Identify and adapt to changes in external and internal dynamics
  • Enable communication frameworks to drive better engagement
  • Build change management capabilities of leaders
  • Enables development and career planning for key talent
  • Drives employee engagement outcomes based on insights
  • Conduct sensitive investigations and reeducation where necessary

  • Represents company policies with integrity
