Job Summary & Responsibilities This position requires hands-on engagement in all aspects of product quality, manufacturing quality, and customer support. This leader is expected to drive effective problem-solving, continuous improvement strategies and proactive solutions to ensure best-in-class quality performance. Lead Quality readiness (QRR) as part of product Lifecycle Management (PLC) for Onto Inspection Products. Ensure risk mitigation and continual improvement by leading FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis) and lessons-learned efforts. Ensure products manufactured by extended factories (Contract manufacturers) meet Onto Innovation’s product quality standards, collaborating with Supplier Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and manufacturing. Drive resolution and corrective actions for manufacturing nonconformances. Lead cross-functional teams for effective problem solving (8D) for Out of Box Quality and other field failures. Ensure timely response to customer Failure Analysis (FA) requests. Review deviations and product changes to ensure they meet Onto’s quality standards. Continually review manufacturing processes both internally and at extended factories (contract manufacturers), including final assembly and test, to ensure outgoing products meet requirements. Lead Incoming Quality Control (IQC) and Outgoing Quality Assurance (OQA) for inspection of incoming parts and outgoing systems to meet quality requirements and specifications. Support the Materials Review Board (MRB) process with timely dispositioning. Collaborate cross-functionally across Development, Operations, and Service in order to develop and drive continuous quality improvement plans consistent with the quality strategy. Ensure all quality initiatives are conducted in line with business requirements. For all quality processes, collect data and monitor metrics to drive continual improvement. Maintain internal process metrics. Track and communicate quality metrics to executive management. Manage the internal audit program, lead internal audits to assure compliance with the Onto Quality Management System. Develop, maintain, and continually improve local procedures consistent with corporate processes and with ISO 9001:2015 requirements. Coordinate and support 3rd party ISO certification/surveillance audits and customer audits, driving resolution of findings. Demonstrate expertise, train staff and advise real-time in problem-solving and root cause/corrective action processes. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Bloomington, MN.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • 12 years of experience in the semiconductor equipment industry.
  • 7 years of experience in a quality role, and 5 years in a management role.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to influence individuals at all levels.
  • Demonstrated technical and analytical skills.

  • Master’s degree is preferred.
