About The Position

The Director of Media Strategy and Planning is responsible for leading and developing media strategies and plans at a national and regional level in support of Sprouts Farmers Market. The ideal candidate leverages a customer first mindset and a data driven approach. They are passionate about the media landscape, have strong experience in both traditional and digital channels, and have a proven track record of connecting media performance to business results. The role will work in close partnership with cross functional partners including brand, creative, and ecommerce, as well as field operations, legal, finance and other functions as needed across the business.

Requirements

  • Has a deep understanding of both traditional and digital channels including video, audio, ooh, search, social and display.
  • Experience leading media investments at a national and regional level utilizing both brand building and performance based approaches.
  • Experience within the retail industry across physical store and ecommerce shopping channels.
  • Experience in building and leading strong agency relationships, providing priorities and clear communication to yield positive outcomes.
  • Ability to condense complex ideas into comprehensible pieces, think critically, analyze performance and opportunities, and find solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present recommendations and data-driven insights to stakeholders at all levels.
  • High Proficiency in using data analytics tools to track and measure campaign performance (ie., Google Analytics, social media analytics, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 8+ year(s) media and marketing experience
  • 6+ years of experience leading a marketing team

Responsibilities

  • Leads paid media strategies and activations across both traditional and digital channels such as video, SEM, social, display and audio.
  • Plans, executes, and optimizes paid media campaigns to drive brand awareness, consideration customer acquisition, and traffic growth for both physical stores and ecommerce shopping channels.
  • Develops corresponding measurement framework to connect media efforts to business results and demonstrate efficacy of investments.
  • Represents paid media team in leadership forums and is able to effectively communicate plans and performance to multiple audience with varying levels of media knowledge.
  • Ensures all investment budgets and media channels are accurately tracked across campaigns and fiscal quarters including fees such as commission, service, tech and ad serving charges.
  • Builds and leads a high-performing paid media team, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to drive individual and team success.
  • Manages media agency relationship providing direction, timing, and guidance to successfully drive the work.
  • Stays update to date with the latest industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and creativity with internal teams.
  • Contributes to strategic business planning, direction, and goal setting for the department, in collaboration with senior management.
